We all have our favorite time-honored traditions in Beach Haven, the shops and eateries that go back generations. But one of the most exciting aspects of each season is returning to Long Beach Island to see the new places that have opened and the new events in store.
The talk of the town this year has been The Woohoo, the Queen City’s newest casual dining joint. Located at 211 South Bay Ave. (formerly the Frosted Mug.) and opened by locals, The Woo Hoo will specialize in burgers and ice cream but will also do smoothies, coffee, and a mouth-watering breakfasts – egg sandwiches and fresh-fruit breakfast bowl. They plan to open early and stay open for the late night crowd.
An exciting addition to Beach Haven’s shopping scene is the Yuletide. It’s Christmas in July! (And June, and August, and all the rest of the year….) at this festive new Bay Village retailer, stocking classic holiday décor including LBI-inspired ornaments made by local artists. Yuletide opened in April to a fantastic response.
Shore Good Donuts, which has become a popular stop in Ship Bottom, is excited to announce it’s second location, this one serving their favorite donuts at 14 S. Bay Ave. in Beach Haven. Shore Good Donuts has become a staple on the Island for fresh donuts made to order and served warm. The menu features over two dozen specialty and signature donuts from the reinvented Inside-Out Jelly to the wild Shore is Spicy, or create your own.
There’s been other buzz about Beach Haven this spring as well like Ship Bottom Brewery doing a collaborative beer with the Chicken or the Egg. Killer Beesting IPA on tap will likely be hotter than an August afternoon. We also have a feeling that the ladies will be all over the new Queen City Apparel line at Raquel’s Closet in Bay Village. The Gables will be celebrating its tenth anniversary under the wonderful ownership of Sondra and Steve Beninati. And of course, Beach Haven has a fantastic list of events to celebrate it’s 125th Anniversary like the Throwback Baseball Game pitting the Borough Employees vs. the Beach Haven Fire Company.
