Update: Contractors dredges have moved to other regions of the country to complete project. Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company estimates they will return in the mid March timeframe to resume beachfill operations on Long Beach Island in Area 6.

Our 99th Annual Turkey Dinner will be held February 13th 2016 from 12:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Meal includes turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans, cranberry sauce & dessert. Tickets are $20.00 a piece and can be purchased at the door. We'll see you then!

East and westbound Route 72 traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction and shifted to the south side of the East and West Thorofare Bridges on or about October 12, 2015 weather permitting. Contractors with over-sized vehicles who may not fit in the one lane are encouraged to contact the Stafford Police Department at (609) 597-1000 and Ship Bottom at (609) 494-1518.

The deadline for flood insurance policyholders to request a review of claims related to Hurricane Sandy is only a week away. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is reviewing claims for National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) policyholders who file a request by the deadline, Thursday, Oct. 15, 2015.
NFIP-certified insurance adjusters are reviewing more than 16,000 Sandy flood claims, looking for any instance of underpayment. While not every review will result in additional payment, approximately three of four completed reviews have found additional eligible expenses since the process began.

Dune grass is now available through the Public Works Department Monday through Friday 7 am to 1 pm. Please contact their office to arrange a pick-up at 609-492-2525. Pick up can also be done at 815 N. Atlantic Ave. at anytime.
Please plant your street end dunes.
Successful planting instructions:
Plant on west side of dune
Plant each culm 6-8 inches deep so just 4-5 inches are left sticking out
2 plants per hole (not three or four)
NO straight rows. MUST BE STAGGERED
Push sand around plants after it is planted to hold it in for winter wind
